CONTEMPORARY MIXED-MEDIA ABSTRACTS
Sprouse's long standing love affair with abstract art has him continuously
adding to this body of work. An evolution from early career geometric and
neo-cubist figurative work to the Rothkoesque panels of color mixed with
bits of vintage and retro era ephemera has lead to an exciting body of work
- examples of which can be seen here.
These works sing with color and echo
deeply enigmatic notions of narratives that must be mentally pieced together
like clues from an ancient mystery allowing the viewer to create his or
her own individual story for each painting.
