The Contemporary Art of Nationally Acclaimed Visual Artist Michael Sprouse

CONTEMPORARY NARRATIVE PORTRAITS

Sprouse's most well known and widely collected works are from this continuing and evolving series that he began in the autumn of 1999. Modeled after faces selected from vintage and antique photographic imagery, these works offer a visual bridge between the past and the present.

Unknown faces from subjects whose history has long since faded, are reawakened into the "now" with visually crafted narratives that speak of love, loss, beauty, mystery, passion, betrayal, joy and more.

These works are only a small sample of scores created in this style which can be found in collections, both private and public, across North & South America and Europe.

" Great art is as irrational as great music. It is mad with its own loveliness. " - George Jean Nathan
